Gospel music luminary Kirk Franklin has spent decades in the vanguard of the genre. Known for edgy conveyances of the gospel message through eclectic musical devices, Franklin famously wrested attention that “gospel music had gone too far” in the opening lines of his 1997 hit song “Stomp”—one of many chartbusters in his more than 30 years of music making. In this thrilling Schwarzman Session, the composer of “Revolution,” “Fear Is Not My Future,” and “My Life Is in Your Hands” will lead an interdisciplinary conversation around what gospel music and his own works contribute to some of the most pressing issues of our time.

Franklin has had eight number one songs on the US Billboard Hot Gospel Songs chart and 14 number one albums on the US Billboard Top Gospel Albums Chart, along with multiple NAACP Image Awards, GMA Awards, Dove Awards, and Grammy Awards, including the 2024 Grammy Award for Best Gospel Performance for his song “All Things.”
