Staff: Sound Engineer 

Yale Schwarzman Center is seeking a Sound Engineer to join our team. Under the direction of the Technical Director (TD), the Sound Engineer (SE) exercises a high degree of autonomy and discretion to plan, coordinate, and oversee the work in sound and audio at Yale Schwarzman Center (YSC). The SE works closely with the TD to provide continuity in the use of such equipment and to maintain high standards of craftsmanship, efficiency, and safety.  

The Sound Engineer reviews technical drawings; ensures safe and efficient operation of the YSC equipment and spaces; and engages in the construction, installation, and strike of sound and audio elements for all YSC Production and related events. This person carries out duties while exercising a large degree of autonomy and discretion, maintaining high standards for safety and customer service. They will serve as Sound Engineer and Board Operator as needed for YSC production and related events. 

In conjunction with DOP and TD, the Sound Engineer will oversee the installation, tuning, and removal of sound and audio equipment at load-in, notes sessions, technical rehearsals and strike of productions and related events.

Staff: Event Technician 3 

Yale Schwarzman Center is seeking an Event Technician to join our team. Under the direction of the Technical Director (TD), the Event Technician (ET) exercises a high degree of autonomy and discretion to plan, coordinate, and oversee event work at Yale Schwarzman Center (YSC). The ET works closely with the TD to provide continuity in event work and to maintain high standards of craftsmanship, efficiency, and safety.  

The Event Technician reports to the Yale Schwarzman Center Technical Director. They will review technical drawings; ensure safe and efficient operation of the YSC equipment and spaces; and engage in the construction, installation, and strike of lighting, sound, projections, and scenic elements for all YSC Production and related events. The Event Technician carries out duties while exercising a large degree of autonomy and discretion, maintaining high standards for safety and customer service. They will participate in the installation, focus, note-sessions, and strike of YSC related productions and events as assigned by the Director of Production or Technical Director.

Staff: Production Electrician 

Under the direction of the Technical Director (TD), the Production Electrician (PE) exercises a high degree of autonomy and discretion to plan, coordinate, and oversee electrics at Yale Schwarzman Center (YSC). The Production Electrician works closely with the Technical Director to provide continuity in the use of such equipment and to maintain high standards of craftsmanship, efficiency, and safety. The Production Electrician reports to the Yale Schwarzman Center Technical Director. They review technical drawings; ensure safe and efficient operation of the YSC equipment and spaces; and engage in the construction, installation, and strike of lighting elements for all YSC Production and related events. The Production Electrician carries out duties while exercising a large degree of autonomy and discretion, maintaining high standards for safety and customer service.   

They will serve as Production Electrician and Programmer as needed for YSC production and related events, and review production related technical drawings, providing guidance on materials, methods, and technical design choices. In concert with YSC Director of Production (DOP) and Technical Director (TD), the Production Electrician will plan the sequence of projects to maintain safety and efficiency. In conjunction with the Director of Production and Technical Director, the Production Electrician will oversee the installation, focus, and removal of lighting equipment at load-in, notes sessions, technical rehearsals, and strike of productions and related events.

Casual: Event Technician

The Schwarzman Center at Yale University (YSC) is looking for on-call Casual Event Technicians to assist on events and performances in collaboration with the Director of Production, Production Manager, and Media Production and Technology Manager. The Casual Event Technician will help to execute and provide audio, visual, and general support for the vast array of events and programming at the Schwarzman Center.

Student: Yale Schwarzman Center House Manager

YSC House Managers serve as hosts whose role is to ensure that audiences have a safe, relaxed, and pleasant experience in the venue from the time they enter until the time they exit.

House Managers prepare the space from the outside entrance to the foot of the stage; schedule, train, and supervise ushers; open & close the house; and fulfill vital life-safety protocols. Reporting to the Visitor Services Manager, YSC House Managers work a part-time flexible schedule that can include afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Student: Yale Schwarzman Center Photographer

Yale Schwarzman Center (YSC) is seeking students to serve as photographers for YSC’s programming. Position is on an as needed basis. Ideally candidate will have a high-quality camera capable of producing print quality (300dpi) images and work samples to show.
