Staff: Director of Development
Yale University seeks a talented and experienced fundraiser to continue to build a fundraising program supporting Yale Schwarzman Center. Reporting to both the Executive Director of Yale Schwarzman Center and the Yale College Director of Development (DOD), the Director of Development engages and solicits prospective donors for gifts and plays a central role collaborating with the Center’s staff and fundraisers across the university. In accordance with the Center’s mission and strategic plan, the Director is responsible for setting and communicating the Center’s fundraising priorities. This includes identifying and cultivating relationships with Advisory Board members, alumni, parents, friends and local community members. The Director oversees and manages personalized visits to campus, tours, and other activities to inspire and strengthen relationships with new donors and friends. In collaboration with the Center’s Executive Director and the Yale College DOD, the Director of Development leads the work of the current Advisory Board which includes high-net worth individuals and celebrity artists, while expanding the membership, and serving as a primary contact for the Schwarzman Foundation.

Staff: Programming Manager
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Programming Manager develops, guides, and implements plans for each engagement as the season calendar is set, in collaboration with all Schwarzman Center departments. The Programming Manager develops and refines for said engagement plans workflows to support appropriate timelines and the deployment of human and financial resources; and stewards the presentation vision for each engagement and oversees company management, ensuring that guest artists have a positive, high-quality experience while on campus. The Programming Manager is an exceptional communicator with excellent organizational skills, sharing knowledge across all departments in a timely manner, and maintaining a high level of connectivity with artists/artists managers and other colleagues as required.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Develops and exercises a nuanced understanding of each Center engagement and facilitates the workflow and cross-departmental communications required to ensure its success.
- Maintains central planning checklist and integrates with ArtsVision calendaring platform.
- Prepares with Deputy Director and Business Manager engagement proposals, Memos of Understanding, and contracts for review.
- Works closely with business office to manage contracting pipeline, works with artists/managers as needed to support supplier set-up and, secure liability insurance policies and artist payments.
- Convenes pre-production kick-off meetings with artists/managers to introduce staff leads, communicate engagement timeline, assess needs, and manage expectations.
- Prepares visas or coordinates visa preparation with outside services on behalf of international artists as necessary.
- Advances and fulfills contract terms and hospitality riders including, but not limited to, travel, accommodations, backstage and pre/post-show hospitality, comp tickets, and parking.
- Advances on and off-campus community engagement activities for artists in conjunction with artistic and marketing/community engagement leadership.
- Serves as main point of contact/company manager for artists/participants during engagements and visits.

Casual: House Manager
Yale Schwarzman Center seeks experienced year-round House Managers available to work on a part-time flexible schedule that can include afternoons, evenings, and weekends beginning August 2024. YSC produces cultural programs including hundreds of public performances and other events each year.
House Managers report to the Visitor Services Manager. As event managers and hosts, their role is to ensure that audiences have a safe, relaxed, and pleasant experience in the venue from the time they enter until the time they exit.
The House Manager for each event prepares the space from the outside entrance to the foot of the stage; schedules, trains, and supervises ushers; opens & closes the house; and fulfills vital life-safety protocols. Reporting to the Visitor Services Manager, the House Manager works on a shift basis, which means that the hours are based on a part-time flexible schedule that can include afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
