Stephen A. Schwarzman grew up in suburban Pennsylvania and was the only student from his public high school to attend Yale.  Fifty-plus years later his $162.8 million gift enabled the creation of Yale Schwarzman Center, a multipurpose cultural, hospitality, and wellness hub.

Under the visionary leadership of Executive Director Rachel Fine,  the Center has – in a short time - made a profound impact on the university and the New Haven community thanks to its eclectic calendar of free performances and events, featuring students and professional artists from all over the world.

Being an artist, being a musician–my firm belief is that the arts should be accessible to everyone and integrated into our daily lives. The world is a better place when we all have regular access to art in one form or another.
