Half a century of Hip-hop took center stage at Yale Schwarzman Center through the vision of Rennie Harris and Artistic Director Rodney Hill.  Harris isn't just a choreographer he is an artist with a vision and an understanding of the history of Hip-hop as a first generation practitioner. Hip-hop as a dance form has matured from its party days in the 1970's and second generation dancers want to uphold standardized conventions while Harris wants to push the artform to stay true to its roots of continual challenge and reinvention.
