Conflict. Action. Change. Our world never seems to rest from its cycles of complexity.

As theatermakers, we call on the tools of our practice to wrestle with the big questions. When we watch stories unfold on the stage from the audience, we behold characters in conflict attempting to overcome obstacles by taking action in order to create some sort of change. Sometimes they succeed. Sometimes they don’t. Either way, when the curtain comes down, the dialogue of the play doesn’t just end with the actors. The dialogue begins with us.

Long Wharf Theatre, in partnership with Yale Schwarzman Center, is calling on you to join us this October for a weekend in New Haven as we gather, break bread, dialogue, and celebrate the new American theatre at our second Artistic Congress
