Costume Designer

Pamela Allen-Cummings's costume career started at Dance Theatre of Harlem after receiving a BFA in Fashion Design from Pratt Institute.  During her tenure with DTH, Ms. Allen-Cummings rose from Wardrobe Assistance to Director of Costumes/Resident Designer.  She has also been a long-time collaborator of current DTH Artistic Director Robert Garland.  Her first costume design/execution credit is for Mr. Garland’s ballet Acid Dreams and Nightmares.  Ms. Allen-Cummings has designed and executed costumes for many notable choreographers with credits spanning dance, Broadway, opera, film, television, fashion, home textiles and phototypes.  Ms. Allen-Cummings’ work is featured in Robert Garland’s critically acclaimed ballet Higher Ground which will be performed at the Shubert Theatre on Saturday, February 24, at 7:00 PM.
