Brandon Niederauer, nicknamed “Taz” for his ferocious guitar playing is living proof that dreams really do come true. The young guitarist, actor, singer, songwriter has performed in some of the most legendary venues in America with many of the most prominent musicians of our time, and is currently a student at Yale University class of 2025.
It all started at eight years old when Brandon watched the Jack Black movie “School of Rock”. Already inspired by his father’s record collection Brandon instantly realized he was destined to play guitar. Four years later, Brandon was cast in the principal role of guitarist “Zack Mooneyham” in the Tony Award nominated Andrew Lloyd Webber Broadway production of “School of Rock the Musical”.
Brandon’s talent has given him the opportunity to play with many of his musical idols. He has shared the stage with multiple members of the Allman Brothers Band, and other notable musicians, including Jon Batiste, Gary Clark Jr., Lady Gaga, The Scorpions, Buddy Guy, Stevie Nicks, Slash, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic.
Since making his national television debut on The Ellen DeGeneres Show at ten years old, Brandon has appeared on The Tony Awards, Good Morning America, The View and multiple times on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. He played the National Anthem at the AFC Championship football game, and the Preakness stakes. Brandon was selected as the composer, and recorded the music for the Versace in-store advertising campaign.
Brandon reunited with Andrew Lloyd Webber, performing with Sarah Brightman at “The Phantom of the Opera’s” 30th Anniversary celebration. He also performed alongside John Legend, Sara Bareilles, and Alice Cooper in NBC’s live broadcast production of “Jesus Christ Superstar”. Brandon’s acting career continued as Virgil in Spike Lee’s Netflix two season series “She’s Gotta Have It”. He currently performs concerts for audiences around the world with his current band, and most recently sold out the Beacon Theater as a member of the all star band “Trouble No More”.
