EveryBody Dances with Malik Nashad Sharpe

EveryBody Dances @ Yale Schwarzman Center brings local and visiting dance artists to our Dance Studio to teach masterclasses in jazz, hip hop, salsa, modern, contemporary, precision dance and more! All community members are welcome. This week's class will be led by Malik Nashad Sharpe. 

Company Class

This workshop explores the more technical foundations of Caribbean, contemporary, and commercial dance within a structured company-class format, typical of professional dance companies and performance collectives. Beginning with a somatic engagement and psycho-geographical mapping, this workshop will progress through technical exercises and across-the-floor sequences, culminating in a choreographic combination. 

Designed to reflect the demands of a multifaceted professional dance environment, Company Class will focus on developing physical facility, stylistic adaptability, and embodied practice. Participants will engage rigourously with a variety of movement vocabulaties, while strengthening technique and expanding versatility across forms. 

Open to all with an interest in movement. Please bring trainers suitable for dance and movement work. You will sweat.
