Yale's largest dining hall, Commons is the most central lunch spot on campus. Commons may be requested for events that do not conflict with the weekly dining operations. If the requested event is on a weekday during the academic year, the event cannot start until 6:30pm. The requested event start time may need to be delayed depending on the room layout as well.
The space use fee is $1,000 and there will be additional fees for catering, production services, and hospitality labor.
Best suited for:
- Receptions
- Dinners/banquets
- Formal events such as dances
Not suited for:
- Student performances
- Weddings
- Hybrid meetings with a video conference component
- Events with a large demand for power. It is best to plan on any necessary equipment running on its own battery power.
