Rodrigo Pacheco

Rodrigo Pacheco, an Ecuadorian chef, attracted the attention of the world through his culinary art and his innovative land conservation project Bocavaldivia Foundation Biodiverse Edible Forest, located in Ecuador. Pacheco is more than a professional chef; he is a specialist in sustainable hospitality and a promotor of culture and biodiversity. You may recognize him from his participation in the gastronomic competition The Final Table produced by Netflix

Pacheco founded the Bocavaldivia Foundation Biodiverse Edible Forest to address socio-environmental causes through a mechanism for ecosystems conservation, reconnection, restoration, and strengthening, all catalyzed by gastronomy. This edible forest is the largest of its kind in the world and serves as the source of many ingredients Pacheco uses in his restaurants Bocavaldivia, located in Puerto Cayo, and Foresta, located in Quito. Pacheco serves as a goodwill ambassador for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

Pacheco bases his culinary art on restoring and connecting ecosystems, wisdom, and flavors. One of his main life goals is to create the largest natural, cultural, and community corridor on the planet earth.
