Slumberland in The Dome at Yale Schwarzman Center

Slumberland a virtual reality performance at Yale Schwarzman Center brought together technology, wellness and performance in surprising and innovative ways. With a central theme of "Why can't I sleep?," the emotions underpinning Slumberland resonate strongly in our screen obsessed world.  The Dome at Yale Schwarzman Center was activated with a diverse audience to experience this innovative performance; those who used an iPhone in the cradle explored alongside those donning a virtual reality headset for the first time. All heard the compelling stories of teens with insomnia told in the setting of a starry night.  With contingency plans in place, Yale Schwarzman Center production and Yale IT teams collaborated with Bombina Bombast and Lost in Time to make this first of its kind live virtual reality performance across oceans come to life.
