Schwarzman Session - Accessibility as a Core Value from Ideation to Opening Night with DJ Kurs
Schwarzman Sessions are peer-led gatherings where conversations generate collaborations and move ideas into action. Because seats are limited, registrants will be automatically placed on the waitlist and will be notified via email if they are selected to participate.
Join DJ Kurs, Artistic Director of Deaf West Theatre, for a lunchtime conversation about building accessibility into creative work from the start. What does access look like at every stage of a project, from the first idea to opening night? How do we make it part of how we work every day, not an afterthought?
One in four Americans lives with a disability. That includes veterans, aging parents, kids, and coworkers, plus the families and friends who buy tickets with them. It’s one of the largest audiences most organizations still miss. Access designed from the beginning is good craft and good business. It makes the work better and opens new markets.
Lunch will be provided!
ASL interpretation provided. No sign language knowledge needed to attend. Come be a part of the conversation!
