A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Yale Ballet Company with Yale Undergraduate Chamber Orchestra
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is an approximately hour-long ballet retelling of Shakespeare’s famous play. With music from Felix Mendelssohn, the story centers around two pairs of lovers, Hermia and Lysander, and Helena and Demetrius, who, unfortunately, get tangled up in a dispute between the Fairy King Oberon and Queen Titania. Puck, the mischievous fairy servant of Oberon, only adds to the chaos. Fairies, love, rejection, a donkey, and good old mischief unite in a comedic ballet that will fill you with laughter and enchantment.
