Guest Speaker: Abdi Ismail

One of Africa Week’s main events—we will model a bazaar for this. We may not be able to represent every African nation, but every African region will be
represented at this cultural bazaar. People will have the freedom to showcase aspects of their history and culture at this event.

This year, Africa Week will focus on reconnecting with home – something that we’ve all missed and would undoubtedly want to experience again. As we welcome this new shade of normalcy, it is also a time for reflection and a time to celebrate our unique identities and how we contribute to the vibrant African landscape. Africa Week this year aims to bridge connections by exploring me, myself, and different facets of African innovation. By looking inward, we are not restricting ourselves to individualism. We seek community, connections, creativity, and cultures that are truly beautiful. We welcome everyone to celebrate the Motherland with YASA!

Events are open to all members of the Yale community.
