Elizabeth “Liz” Climie brings over three decades of extensive experience in the facility management, property management, and construction industries to her role as the Schwarzman Center’s Building Operations Manager. With deep expertise in operations, asset and vendor management, strategic planning, regulatory compliance, project and construction management, and leadership. Liz joined the Yale Schwarzman Center team in March of 2025.
Before joining Yale, Liz served as the Director of Facilities at Hopkins School for almost 10 years and in the same capacity at the Ethel Walker School for four years. She also acted as the Facilities Manager at Mitchell College for two years and spent 10 years managing office buildings and critical data centers for a large telecommunications client covering 10 states in the northeast. Earlier in her career, she held a leadership role in a mechanical contracting firm for almost a decade.
Liz earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from Charter Oak State College. She is also certified through the Building Owners and Managers Institute as a Facilities Management Administrator (FMA), Real Property Administrator (RPA), Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA) and Systems Maintenance Technician (SMT).
Originally from Haydenville, a small community in western Massachusetts, Liz had the opportunity to grow up on her family’s dairy farm. She relocated to Connecticut in 1999 and now resides in West Haven with her long-time partner Jason. Outside of her professional work, Liz enjoys spending time with family and friends, engaging in outdoor activities and exploring her interest in mixed media art.
