Dance Studio Guidelines

In keeping with the Dance Studio's designation as a student-prioritized space, requests for the Dance Studio are limited to Yale undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.

Booking Guidelines

• Reservations must be made one business day in advance and will require approval.
• Please note that the requested times may need to shift prior to being approved. 
• Requests are reviewed 1-2 weeks prior to the requested date pending staff availability.
• You will receive an email if your reservation is confirmed or still pending. You will also receive an access code to the studio. The access code is not meant to be shared or distributed to others that will not be using the studio at the reserved times.
• The room reservation system is configured to allow two bookings per date and 8 total bookings can be made over a 37-day period.
• Reservations are limited to 120 minutes.
• The studio cannot be used for more than 4 hours per day or 6 hours per week for one dance group/individual.

Space Use Guidelines

• The maximum number of people allowed in the studio is 30.
• Only dance & movement rehearsals and classes are permitted.
• The studio cannot accommodate performances or audiences.
• No food or drink is permitted except for water.
• The following are not allowed on the vinyl floor:
  • Street shoes
  • Rosin
  • Clogging (tap shoes are permitted)
  • Furniture
• At the end of your reservation, the window shades must be raised.

Street shoes are not permitted on the dance studio floor.

If footwear is required for your rehearsal, please change into shoes that are specifically for that activity and not worn on the street.
