on homecoming

A celebration of belonging—a declaration of having found a home...

Homecoming, a season of welcoming and inviting, is a familiar part of university life. Beyond the sporting events, dances, and reunions, it’s a celebration of belonging—a declaration of having found a home.

Yale Schwarzman Center invites undergraduate, graduate and professional students to share creative responses to the following questions: What is home? What does it mean to come home?

Delve into the essence of home, examining its emotional, cultural, and personal dimensions. Explore the physical spaces one you call home, the sense of belonging, cultural or historical ties, migration, displacement, nostalgia, or any other aspect that resonates with your vision of home.

We encourage submissions that reflect diverse experiences and voices. Share your personal stories, cultural perspectives, or experiences related to home, which can contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of this universal concept.

To embrace the breadth of students' experiences and creative expressions, we are seeking well-crafted and thought-provoking music, film, photography, poetry, dance, and other genres of multimedia storytelling.
