Adam Bintz

Adam Bintz is the Sound Engineer at Yale Schwarzman Center.

Prior to joining the Schwarzman Center, Adam worked around the country at various regional theaters as a Sound Designer and Engineer. In Connecticut, Adam has been a company member of Long Wharf Theatre and TheaterWorks Hartford, in addition to occasional work with Hartford Stage, Playhouse on Park, and the University of Hartford. As the Audio Visual Supervisor at TheaterWorks Hartford, he supported many innovative projects including site specific programming, renovation advisement, Zoom productions of new work, and producing high quality archival captures of theatrical performances for streaming.

Outside of Connecticut, Adam has been a company member at PlayMakers Repertory Company (UNC), Portland Center Stage, Bristol Valley Theater, Weston Playhouse, and Walt Disney World.  At the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, he was the instructor for Intro to Sound Design & Technology, where he guided students through operation and mechanics of audio equipment, as well as development of sound effects, voice recording, and foley.  

Adam specializes in MIDI orchestration, layering sound effects into music, and mixing musicals.  He has been privileged to collaborate with many talented professionals in the industry on everything from meticulously produced musicals to raw, experimental creations.  In addition to sound, Adam also practices video design, stage lighting, carpentry, photography, and more.  

Adam is an alum of the University of South Carolina with a BA in Theatre and Media Arts.
