REBECCA MILLER (Director, Writer, Producer) is an Emmy nominee and past winner of the Sundance Grand Jury Prize, Gotham Prize and Independent Spirit Award. The writer, director and producer has written and directed six feature films: Angela (1995), winner of both the Sundance Film Festival’s Filmmakers Trophy and best cinematography honors, as well as the Gotham Award; Personal Velocity (2002), winner of the Sundance Grand Jury Prize and cinematography award, as well as Independent Spirit’s John Cassavetes Award; The Ballad of Jack and Rose (2005), starring Daniel Day-Lewis and Catherine Keener; The Private Lives of Pippa Lee (2009), starring Robin Wright, Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder and Alan Arkin; Maggie’s Plan (2015), starring Julianne Moore, Greta Gerwig and Ethan Hawke; and “Arthur Miller: Writer” (2017), an Emmy-nominated HBO documentary (Outstanding Documentary: Arts & Culture). She is currently in post on a new documentary. She is the screenwriter of the feature film Proof (2005) adapted form the stage play of the same name. Miller is also a painter and author of the short story collections Personal Velocity (2001) and Total (2022) as well as the novels The Private Lives of Pippa Lee (2009) and Jacob’s Folly (2013).
