Yale and New Haven leaders gathered together for an annual Martin Luther King Jr. commemoration on Thursday evening in Sheffield-Sterling-Strathcona Hall — the culmination of Yale’s 2026 celebrations honoring the legacy of King.
The inspiring keynote was delivered by U.S. Army Col. Edna Cummings, who stayed for a warm conversation with Editor of The Inner City News, Babz Rawls Ivy.
The event was presented by the 2026 Yale & New Haven MLK Commemoration Committee, Yale Office of the Secretary and Vice President for University Life, and Yale College Dean’s Office in collaboration with Yale Schwarzman Center.
